Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Anime Review Episodes: 12 Genres: Comedy, Supernatural, Shounen Where can you find it?: Hulu
The thing that drew me to this anime was of course.. The art! This anime is beautiful! Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun revolves around the seven wonders of Kamome Academy. The main character Nene Yashiro goes to test the rumors around one of the seven wonders of the school Hanako-kun! Nene like some girls is having guy trouble. She asks Hanako-kun to grant her wish to help her find love. While trying to help her find love, The two build an interesting and intimate relationship. This anime to me has horror vibes with a cute twist to it. You are introduced to other interesting and unique characters throughout the show, which makes the show hilarious. I am not one that is good at the art of binge watching, and I feel (for me) I binged this show lol. I watched it in about 3 days or so. (Hey, it is tough trying to give one thing my full attention! Sue me!) I love the whole ghost story aspect of the show and rumors are very important to the plot. There also seems to be some possibility of romance in the show? Maybe a love triangle? Especially after the other main character Kou Minamoto, an exorcist, comes into the picture! I certainly hope so! I do not like spoilers and so I will do my best to not spoil anything too important to the show.
My favorite character from this show is probably the teacher Tsuchigomori that you meet about midway through the show. He is actually the librarian (and this is close to my heart since I work at a library) and he is a cool character to boot! There are not that many characters that I dislike in the show, and the only one I can think of is an apparition named Tsukasa that looks exactly like Hanako! Tsukasa is childish, immature and mean! I do not like him at all. He is definitely one of those characters you are meant to hate. He does some awful things in the show! Overall the characters are all really cool and cute! I love them! They help drive the story.
Kou and Hanako are both very protective of Nene and are always jumping in to save her when she is being attacked by an apparition. After being around Hanako for awhile The story starts to take a darker turn as you begin to learn more about Hanako. At this point Nene starts to wonder how she feels about Hanako. There is a lot of mystery around the backstory of Hanako and it isn’t fully explained in the series. There are several plot holes left at the end of the show, so I poked around the internet and saw that season 2 is supposed to be coming out next year. I sure hope so because I have a lot of questions that need to be answered! I would have preferred this being one season.. But, since it is not I hope the series gets enough buzz for season 2 to be released. I cannot be left without a true ending to this show!

And with that, in conclusion this show has my full interest!! I look forward to the next season. I love the art, characters, story all of it! The reason I didn’t give it 5 hearts is because of the HUGE plot hole. Nothing is resolved and there is too much mystery.
